9 Months!

Our sweet Kate is 9 months old! I know neither Leland and I cannot imagine life without her and we thank the Lord for her daily and for her good health and happy personality! She is truly a precious gift. I didn't take too many pictures this month for some reason. But here's just a few pictures of what we've been up to lately.

At 9 months:
-Kate is still not crawling-she scoots around on her hiney or tummy. But she loves to stand and walk when holding our hands. She's starting to cruise around furniture some but is a little timid. -New foods Kate likes are watermelon, rotesserie chicken, mac-n-cheese, any kind of bread, green beans
-Kate is babbling a lot-says da da da all the time but we're still working on ma-ma.
-She claps with her arms straight out and palms down and slaps them together-silly girl!
-drinking with her staw cup now.
-growing so big and healthy! We go to the doctor Friday so I'll know her stats and post them by then.

Happy after a good nap

Everything looks really funny sideways
(Kate does this a lot..It's so cute!)

Texas Girls Trip

Just us girls, Kate and I, went on a vacation to Texas to see the family. We had a blast. Leland's parents (Taseen and G-Daddy) picked us up at the airport and took us back to Clifton to spend a few days there. We had so much fun just relaxing and seeing the Wells side of the family. Kate rode on a cow-Old Traficant is her name. ( I hope I spelled that right). She's a calm cow so Kate was not in danger of getting bucked off :) We got to see all the animals out there, the duck-Oreo-Kate wasn't too sure of her this time. The dog Wildthing, the cat Pumpkin and of course all the guinea hens and cows. We even saw some wild hogs off in a pasture from the front porch early one morning. My parents met us halfway in Mineral Wells to pick us up and take us back to Wichita Falls. We had so much fun with the Marten side too. Kate got to play with her cousin Pierce again and meet all her mommy's aunts uncles and cousins on Nini's side (my mom). My Pappy had his 83rd birthday party at my parents that Saturday so we had fun celebrating with him. We went swimming and fed the fish out at the pond behind my parents house. And just played with Nini and Pop. Kate did great and had so much fun with her family. Kate is still not crawling and I think she is going to just skip right over it. While we were at my parents house she started taking steps when you hold her standing up. She'll stand by herself for a few seconds before losing her balance. Cousin Pierce ("P") is crawling all over the place. It's so cute. She's so content just playing on the floor. I wish mine would do that. She is becoming a little high maintenance diva! Here's some photos from the trip.

eHarmony update

I'm sure some of you are wanting an update on the whole eHarmony commercial thing. Leland and I had a conference call with a casting director and she just asked us some questions about us and about our whole eHarmony experience. She wanted us to make a video to send in and then they would choose couples after viewing all the videos they recieved. Well, after thinking more about it and waiting until the deadline to make a video and we hadn't even done anything with it yet, we decided we weren't going to go any further with it. Leland didn't really want to be on TV and I don't think either one of us was real enthusiastic about doing it. So there you go, we chickened out.
