I'm Back

I got a new laptop yesterday, so I am playing some major catch up on some blogging. I posted 4 new posts tonight, so check them out!
Most nights, Leland puts Kate to bed. He'll read to her and sing. He has a hymn book that he sings out of to her and she loves it! She always ask for him to sing "Bible songs." So cute! I love that this is something she'll always remember her daddy doing with her. Anyway, I noticed it was getting late and he was still in her room so I went in there and saw this! Not sure how this could be comfortable, but cracked me up.

Morgan is loving that she has graduated to the exersaucer

I love these next few pictures! Kate wanted to get in her bed and read to her sissy. They just look so sweet together!

The classic naked baby picture

And this is what happened again the next night! haha!

Kate's First Haircut

Kate's hair was starting to look a little whiskey tango in the back so we decided it was time for a haircut! We went to a place for kids and she did great. I just wanted them to kinda shape it because she now has part curly/part straight hair in the back and it was look scragly and stringy looking. Honestly, I could have done what she did at home myself. So I think I'm going to from now on.....for now anyway.

Before photo. Playing while we waited

Being silly. She had food in her mouth.

Watching Sesame Street

And here's the best After photo I had. It looked better, but you really can't see much of a difference. Oh well. At least now I know not to go spend $20 again to have someone else cut it when I can do that at home for free!

Christmas Part 2

Way behind on this blog (obviously!) We celebrated Christmas with Leland's family on New Year's weekend. It was great being able to be with both sides of the family this year now that we're back in Texas. Unfortunately, I didn't get very many good pictures....so this is all I've got.

Kate and her Tassy

Morgan is 4 Months!

Poor Morgan turned 5 months old today and I'm just now posting her 4 month pictures. Oops. Morgan at 4 months was 12lbs 9z (25%), 24" long (50%) and her head was 15.5" (10%). She's a little more petite than Kate was at this stage. She still seems so small to me. My little dainty girl. Morgan started rolling over both ways during her 4 months. She's a little more active than kate was. Kate was always a little reserved (still is) and Morgan seems like she's a go-getter! I have to watch her because if I'm holding her and I have something in my hand she'll reach over as fast as she can to try to grap whatever it is I have! She lights up and smiles when she sees a smiling friendly face that comes up to talk to her. She's very ticklish and has a cute little giggle wen you tickle her. We are loving our sweet Morgan.

We love you Morgan Paige! You are a wonderful blessing from the Lord!

Catching up somewhat

So my laptop is still down and I'm having to use Leland's desktop for now, which is a pain. I think it's going to cost abour $150 for a new motherboard and so we may just end up buying a new laptop.....but not sure when that will be........so I'm going to be really behind on my blogging.
I do have to talk about a major deal that happened today. I decided that today was the day that I was going to make Kate take her nap (quiet time) in her big girl bed today (it's in a separate room from her crib). We're planning on putting her in there full-time this weekend. It's funny because I've been dreading this and putting it off because I didn't have the energy to deal with the fight I knew she was going to put up. But poor Morgan needs to be sleeping in a crib now and not in a pack-n-play anymore! So, I talked her up to it all morning and she seemed excited. I told her she was going to take her nap in her big girl room today and she needed to stay in there until I come to get her. I put our video monitor up in there so I could see what she'd do. Well, of course when I left and closed the door, she freaked out. She was crying so hard she was out of breath. She didn't try to come out for a while, but eventually she came out of the room and immediately put her back in bed and reassured her. Well, after her coming out about 3 times and me putting her back in, she stayed! Yay! Success. She finally started playing with some toys and books in her bed with a few fusses here and there. Some time goes by.....then silence. I looked on the monitor. She's asleep. Shocker!! This kid hasn't been napping for the last few months so I was shocked to see she actually had gone to sleep in her big bed! This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but if you know our Kate, she does not do well with change or new environments. When she woke up I went in there and showered her with kisses and told her how happy I was that she took a nap in her big girl bed. She was all smiles and woke up very happy! The things we stress over and I'm sure someday I'll look back and think, what was the big deal!? Ha!

Laptob died

My laptop just quit working one day. It won't come on at all. So Leland is taking it up to work today to see if it can be fixed....but if not I'm going to have to get a new one. I only had that one for 2 years!! So I am way behind on my blogging, but will try to get caught up as soon as I get mine back or get a new one!

Christmas Fun and Family (Part 1)

We spent Christmas with the Marten's (my family) in Wichita Falls. We had a great time and it was chaos as always when my 2 brothers' families and my family are all staying under one roof. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Here's some pictures from the weekend....in no particular order.

Kate enjoying opening Christmas presents much more than she did her birthday presents

These 2 silly girls were having fun pushing each other around in the baby doll stroller

We were all color coordinating (not on purpose) so we had to get a photo. Me with my 2 sister-in-laws

All the grandgirls (minus Morgan) posing for a photo in Pop's tractor.

Morgan finally got to meet her Pappy (her great-grandfather and my grandfather). I'm so happy he's been able to spend time with all of his great-granddaugthers.

Nini opening her gift from all her granddaughters. It was a necklace with 5 discs with each girls name stamped on it.

My older brother Chris made this adorable baby doll bed for Kate (he made one for Pierce too). Isn't it awesome? I love it even more that it was handmade by her uncle Chris! And my SIL, Mary made the cute bedding. Kate is just starting to get into baby dolls so I know this will be a winner in our household!

Kate and cousin Pierce. They had a blast together. At least when Kate wasn't head butting or trying to wrestle with her. I think we must play too hard with her at home. Ha!

My parents' ducks on their pond

Sweet Morgan at 4 months. I am so behind on blogging about her turning 4 months! I'll get to it soon.

Playing "Ring Around the Rosie"

Elf Morgan

Nini reading about Jesus' Birthday. They apparently didn't stay sitting this still for long.

Kate's face cracks me up here as if she's saying "Yeah, she's my little sister"

Ok, that was Part 1 of our Christmas. We went to Leland's parents for New Year's and spent Christmas with them. I'll blog about that soon!
