Whoohooo!

I'm so excited....we just got the news and had to blog about it! We sold our house in Missouri!! We went back and forth with counter offers and stood our ground on our final offer and they accepted. Thank you Jesus!! Granted, we're still taking a hit on the house and getting less than what we paid for it, but we knew that would happen anyway with the economy the way it is right now. Now we can finally start doing some things to our new home. I'm so happy!

Weekend in Wichita Falls

I'm a little behind on my blogging. We went to Wichita Falls a couple of weekends ago for my cousin's wedding. It was so nice to just hop in the car and be there in 2 hours rather than the 10 hours it used to take us! I'm so happy we can attend more family events now that we're home! Here's a few pictures from the wedding. Congrats Dusty and Melanie!!

Dancing with Daddy

I just thought this was so precious. Kate and her cousin Pierce holding hands on the way to the reception.

Kate absolutely loves her cousin Parker (actually he's my first cousin). She sat in his lap for most of the reception. Too funny!

Kate with her other 2nd cousin, Britton.

If you can't tell, Kate loves the spotlight. I wish I would have gotten video sooner because we were clapping for her and then every now and then we'd all agree not to clap and see what she would do. She just looked really confused like, why are y'all not clapping? But then my mom would feel sorry for her and start clapping anyway! Funny girl!

Let the Nesting Begin

I think I'm officially nesting now. I have this sudden urge to start sewing all these baby things and am even considering sewing a duvet cover for Kate's big girl bed. My first project was a baby sling. I never used one with Kate but wanted one for our second baby. So I got online, found a tutorial, headed to the fabric store, and the next day I made one (all while Kate was napping). I think it turned out great! Here it is with Kate modeling for me.

Now obviously Kate is too big for these, but it's pretty neat with all the different positions you can use them for. You can cradle a newborn in one and even breastfeed with them in there, or a bigger baby can sit in it facing forward. And an even bigger baby (smaller than Kate) can sit on your hip and you're hands free. So fun! I can't wait to use it with the baby.
I'm not sure what these things retail for but all I spent was $15 on the fabric. Hmm, I may try to make a diaper bag or small quilt next.....we'll see how long this nesting thing lasts!

35 weeks!

I've been really bad about taking belly shots with this pregnancy and everytime I think about it, there's no one around to take the picture.....so I figured I'd do it myself. Ha! Here I am 35 weeks pregnant. I think I look almost identical to my pregnancy with Kate. I've gained the same amount of weight, I'm carrying her the same. I've had mostly the same symptoms......except this baby is now breech!! I am so bummed that I might have to have a c-section. I went to the doctor yesterday and they did a sono to check her size. She weighs about 5lbs. 8oz. right now. Her head is up under my ribs and feet down....so she gave me some exercises to do at home to try to get her to flip. I'm praying she will because I really don't want to have surgery. Also, I'm dilated 1cm and 50% effaced so I'm sure she will come a little early which I am totally fine with. I have mixed emotions. I am getting so uncomfortable and not sleeping well at night and can't wait to get my body and energy back, but once I'm no longer preggo that means I have an infant AND toddler to take care of and won't be getting much sleep for a while. But it's all worth it!
My cousin is getting married in Wichita Falls this weekend and my doctor is advising that I don't travel, but I'm sorry. It's for one night and 2 hours away....I'm going! I just pray my water doesn't break or anything crazy like that while we're gone!

Old Pictures

I've been so disorganized and behind lately, so here's some old pictures I've been wanting to post and just now getting around to doing it.

watching neighborhood fireworks on the 4th. Kate didn't know what to think!

Just hangin out at the OB's office checking to see how baby sister is doing

I want my snack!

Riding the train for the first time at the St. Louis zoo

These pictures are so sweet to me. Leland wants a boy so badly, but I figure if Kate is willing to help him work on cars, that's the next best thing, right?

Our sweet neighbors who hosted a "going away BBQ" for us before we moved! We had a blast and miss them already!

These are all of Kate's St. Louis cul-de-sac buddies. We're missing a few here but here's most of the gang!

Wearing my Sunday best

watching the dog with my cousin Pierce. I'm so happy to be living closer to her so we can hang out all the time now!

Playing in the pool in my new backyard.

Naked pool time is the best!
