Cabo Trip

Leland's comany took us and about 300 other people to Cabo for an Escapes trip last weekend. We had a great time soaking up the sun and getting a tan. The weather was beautiful! Lennox invited several of their large customers on the trip and so Leland had about 30 people from the St. Louis area attend. It was not quite a vacation for him since he was having to entertain his customers and make sure they were having a good time. But we still had fun.
This was a view of the pool at our resort

This is kind of the famous view of Cabo. My photography abilities do not do it justice. Three of us ladies went on a whale watching cruise. So we took a boat out to an area to watch whales come to the surface. I never got a good enough picutre of them but they were so big and there were a ton of them. Leland went on a deep sea diving trip with a bunch of guys. They didn't get a single bite the entire time. But they still had a good time.

Hanging out at the famous Cabo Wabo. Sammy Hagar (from Van Halen) owns this bar/restaurant. We missed seeing him perform. The one night we ended up going he wasn't there. Oh well. We're not big Van Halen fans anyway.

This was the day we stayed in the shade for most of the day. We were hurtin a little from all the sun!

Back to Work-Darn it!

Well, I accepted a job offer today at a local dentist office. I have really enjoyed the break from work and being a stay at home mom with Sadie :) but at the same time, I'm ready to get back to it. It starts getting kind of boring around here now that I have most of the house in order. The new job is actually owned by a corpoarte company called Heartland Dental and they have offices all over the country. The nice thing about it is I get health insurance and dental is free of course. I've never had health coverage through a job before since I've only worked in private practices so that will be nice. The staff is very nice and they make me feel old. Everyone is so young there. So, we'll see how it goes. I start next Tuesday. Here is the office's website: http://www.smiledesigndental.com Oh, and in Missouri dental hygienist are licensed to give local anesthesia, so since Texas doesn't allow that I will have to get licesnsed to do that up here----not something I have any desire to do but I guess it is pretty much a requirement up here. I'll keep you posted on how the new job works out.

Leland's job is still going well. All of his staff seems to be very happy to have him there and they like him alot. Lennox is taking us and about 150 other Lennox employees and some of their customers on an escapes trip to Cabo San Lucas at the end of February. We are looking forward to that!

Don't Eat the Yellow Snow!

Last Thursday it started snowing all day and the next morning we woke up to 10 inches of snow! It was so pretty. I think Leland, Sadie, and I were the only ones out playing in it. I guess it's not as big of deal when it snows around here to all of the locals. Sadie had so much fun playing in the snow. It came all the way up to her belly. That day, snow plow trucks were driving all over town scraping it off the streets, so the roads were fine by the middle of the day-no excuse for skipping work around here!! People were snow-blowing their driveways-something we didn't think was necessary until we tried exiting and entering the garage without sliding the car into the brick wall! Two days later it was almost 70 degrees and it all melted very quickly.
