14 Months

Kate turned 14 months in February! She is funner than ever at this stage! Some things Kate has been up to: walking all over the place in her cast...as if it's part of her. We have one more week to go! She's really into books right now and loves to turn the pages herself. She is saying ball, baby, bye-bye, mama, dada, Sha-sha (Sadie), uh-oh. She likes throwing things, anything. The other day we were in Baby Gap and she threw her shoe across the store. Good thing my friend who was with us saw her do it....otherwise I never would have known where that shoe went! She loves dogs and gets so excited when she sees one. She is down to one nap a day and that is even a stuggle at times. It's getting better, but there for a while I was so exhausted being pregnant and having a toddler who wouldn't nap all day! I would just put her down in her crib at the same time and if she didn't sleep, at least I was getting some down time....however, she just stands in her crib crying if she won't nap and that doesn't make for a restful time for me! But, she is starting to nap again...yay! She loves to aggravate Sadie by head-butting her or leaning back on her like a pillow if Sadie is laying on the floor. She laughs when she hears Leland and I laughing like she knows what we're laughing at......too funny! When we tell her "no" or not to do something she tilts her head and ducks it under like a shy look and has the cutest look on her face.....we may be in trouble! I'll stop there, but we are having so much fun watching this little person and personality develop in front of our eyes! I am finally starting to feel better......I still get some nausea in the evenings which makes me have no desire to cook. I hope this passes soon. I go back to the doctor this week for my 12 week check-up. Okay, here's some pics of Kate from this past month!
I managed to get her to smile here...hard to do these days when she's always on the go

Doing one of her favorite things-turning the pages and so serious about it

That's my girl! Brushing her 6 teeth. I do it first of course.

Kate's New Look

Here is Kate with her old cast on

Before

Awww, feels so good to stretch that leg out! Kate did NOT like the machine that removed her cast. It wasn't the sound that bothered her it was the vibration. Leland and I both had to hold her down so she would stop squiming and the nurse could finish.

This is the easy part

My new accessory. We decided to go with purple this time. 3 more week and this one comes off. yea!!

Kate's announcement!

Ok, so if you're not very observant......read her shirt. Kate is going to be a big sister! We are having baby #2!! I am 8 weeks pregnant and had our first ultrasound yesterday. All looks well with the baby. We are due September 15th. We are very happy that the Lord has blessed us with another baby. We started trying a couple of months ago thinking we just never know how long it will take to get pregnant again but wasn't expecting it this quickly! But I had just prayed that I would get pregnant in His timing and not ours. His timing was quicker than mine! Ha! Kate and baby #2 will be 21 months apart. That's not too bad! Tons of people do it everyday so I know we can too! So far, I've had nausea and exhaustion more so with this pregnancy than with my first. I'm hoping it will pass soon so I can get back to myself!

The three of us were in Texas last week. Leland had meetings in Dallas and Kate and I made our rounds to see the grandparents. This is a picture of Kate playing in Taseen's kitchen (Leland's mom)

Kate is doing awesome with her cast. She hasn't complained about it once! :)
She has one more week and then we have this one removed and a smaller one put on. I can't wait for her to start walking again. It will make life so much easier!
