Seeing Double

I was just blogging about Morgan turning 3 months old (Morgan above) and realized that I took the same picture of Kate on the same couch at 3 months old and they were both taken after we got home from church in their chruch dresses. Too funny! I can see the differences in them already.

Kate at 3 months old

3 Months

Our sweet Morgan is 3 months old now! She is such a sweet baby. I could just squeeze her!

I don't know how much she weighs but she's still so petite and tiny. She has the tiniest little head. I love her little voice when she coos at us or when she flashes me her big grin with her little dimples. Sometimes she looks like she's batting her eyelashes and flirting when you talk to her. We just love this little one to pieces. She is a wonderful little sleeper now, praise God! There for a while I thought we were going to have a rough time with this. She is now sleeping anywhere from 6-8 hour stretches at night. I get up to nurse her and then she' usually goes back to bed until about 7:30am. It's wonderful! I don't have to take naps anymore..yay!

Kate really is such a good sister. She loves her baby sister. She doesn't call her Morgan, she just likes to call her baby. She's always kissing her and likes to play with her toes. Sometimes Kate can be rough and I have to watch her around Morgan, but Morgan takes it like a champ.

Sisters!

Daddy with his little girl

We spent Thanksgiving with the Wells side. Kate loves to feed the cows with her G-Daddy (she calls him G)

I'm always the one taking the pictures so I have to ask someone once in a while to take one of me with my girls

Morgan and G (I guess I didn't get any pictures of Taseen or Tassy as Kate calls her)
Well, actually that's her in the background, but that doesn't count.

The tree is up! I love this time of year!

I Just Have to Blog About This!

We painted our dining room a couple of weekends ago. We chose this olive green color which really looks more like army green but I really like how it turned out. Our only problem was we have bullnose corners and there's no easy way to figure out where to stop the paint on the rounded corners............

so we found this thing called The Blendmate. I found it online and ordered one. You put the color you're painting in one syringe and the paint color on the adjoining wall in the other syringe and as you roll it on, the 2 colors blend together so that it gives it a fading effect.
We were really skeptical but figured we had no other options and it was worth a try! Well, it looks awesome! You can't really tell where the color stops. I am so excited because we have bullnose corners throughout our whole house and now I won't be worrying about trying to tape on a rounded corner ever again!

So, if you have the same problem we have, here you go. No one seems to know about it, so I thought I'd share this cool tool!

Here's just a few pics from the last few weeks. Two of my girlfriends from dental hygiene school (and they were bridesmaids in my wedding), Traci and Holli, came over with their hubbies and kiddos last weekend. We hung out and had some chili and yummy food. I hadn't seen them since we've moved back to Texas. Unfortunately we live across the other side of the metroplex from most of our friends so it's hard to get together very often. We had a blast catching up!

Of course I had to post a couple of pictures of my sweet girls. Kate loves being a big sister. She is always going over to check on her.

About to head off to church

Halloween

I am super behind on my blogging so scroll down to see the next 3 posts if you'd like.

Kate was a cheerleader for Halloween. This was the first year we did anything with her for Halloween. Last year we were at Leland's sister's wedding. But this year she had fun trick-or-treating and looooved getting all that candy.
Morgan dressed as a ladybug. She wasn't too fond of wearing this as you can see.

We went to my aunt Cindy's neighborhood to go trick-or-treating with cousin Pierce. they have a fabulous neighborhood and here they are posing with my cousins Britton and Audrey

The wagon was a hit

Kate figured out after about the 2nd house that if she holds open her bag when someone opens the front door, she gets candy!

Leland had fun taking the girls around mostly because he knew he would be getting some of Kate's candy, so he was on a mission to go to as many houses as possible. Ha!
We had fun and Kate crashed in the car as soon as we got on the road.

Morgan is 2 months old!

I'm so behind on my blogging. Morgan turned 2 months old 2 weeks ago, but I wanted to post about it. She had her checkup and everything went great! Here's her stats:
Weight: 10lbs 8oz (50th %)
Length: 23 inches (75th %)
Head: not sure measurement but it's the 10th % which is up from the 3% it was last time we were at the doctor. So she's growing and healthy and we are so blessed and thank God for her every day.

Morgan is happiest in the mornings. Her sweet smile and cooing when she sees my face or hears my voice just makes my heart melt. I think after having my 2nd child I have a different perspective. The little things are so precious to me because I know how fast they grow having witnessed this with Kate and I know what is to come and am so thrilled and blessed to watch her grow into this little person.

Morgan is a pretty good baby. If she's fussy it's usually because she's hungry, sleepy or wants to be moved in a different position. She's getting better at sleeping good at night. Last night was a wonderful night. She slept for 6 hours straight! I woke up at 5:30am panicked because I realized she hadn't made a peep since I put her to bed at 11:30 and ran to check on her. She was just starting to stir and wake up ready to eat. I hope this continues because I'm wiped! Having a newborn and a toddler (who by the way is starting to phase out her naps I'm afraid) is exhausting and I'm getting very little sleep these days but I'm hoping this gets better soon.

Morgan is doing great with tummy time. She tolerates it much better than Kate did. She's such a joy in our lives and can't wait to watch her grow....but I am already sad that she's growing so fast. I don't know if we'll have a 3rd or not so this may be the last baby we have and that makes me sad. But life must go on!

Kate's Big Girl Room

Currently Kate is still sleeping in her crib in the nursery and Morgan is in the bassinet in our bedroom, but eventually we need to get Kate moved over to her big girl bedroom so we can move Morgan into the nursery. Here's a few pictures of what I've done with her new room so far.

This used to be my bed from my college and my single days....and now it's Kate's bed. I decided to sand and paint it an antique white the day before I went into labor....hmm wonder if that had anything to do with me going into labor the next morning?

Here it is painted thanks to my mom and mother-in-law helping me put the last coat of paint on while they were here helping me with Kate and Morgan. I ordered Kate's bedding from this cute website. I was so excited to find it because I'm trying to go with the shabby chic theme.

And here's the color we painted it. My wonderful parents came in town that weekend and helped me paint it. At first I thought it was more blue than I wanted ( I was going for a blue but with more gray tones) but after seeing it with the pink bedding I love it!

This is an awesome true antique dresser I found in Canton...I was so excited to find it because I had been searching for the perfect piece and this is exactly what I had in mind...and it was a steal!

This is a bookshelf I found in Canton also that has the antique white finish. It doesn't have all the shelves on it in this photo. Now we just need wall decor and accesories to finish the room.....oh and a toddler to sleep in there. I'm not sure when we're going to do that because I just know as soon as we move her over, she'll stop taking naps and bedtime will be a challenge. Maybe we'll wait until after her birthday in December.
