8 Months

Our baby is 8 months already! I'm so sad how fast it's coming and going. This is such a fun age right now and I'm trying to remember every moment-taking a lot of video and pictures these days. :) Kate has been such a joy in our lives and I can't even imagine life without her!

We still see no signs of teeth yet, but she doesn't seem to have a problem chewing some foods. She loooves cereal puffs and yo baby yogurt and just tried cheese and chicken for the first time today. She's babbling a lot more now. In fact, I finally heard her say ma-ma today....it melted
my heart! I was changing her diaper and was saying "ma-ma" to her like I always do (she's already said da-da so we're working on ma-ma now) and she didn't do anything until about a mintue later she said it. It was awesome! Of course she doesn't know yet that that's my name. She is drinking from a sippy cup, still not crawling-has no interest in it at all, she sleeps from 7:30pm to 6:30am and is taking 2 naps a day---yay for finally getting a nap schedule down! She stands up holding on to something by herself, she smiles at everyone when we're out running errands and just loooves the spotlight. Oh yeah, she is going through the separation anxiety phase. She cries a lot when I walk away or leave her with someone. The other day I was at the gym in a Pilates class and they (girls watching her at the gym) had to come get me about 15 mintues into it because she was hysterical. I sure hope she outgrows that soon because it sure makes getting things done a little more difficult.

"Please Mom, that's enough pictures."

This is a video that is showing Kate's silly side.

eHarmony

Most people who read our blog know that Leland and I met on eHarmony and three years later we're married and have a baby. Some of you also may know that Leland's sister Ellen is getting married in October to David who she met on eHarmony as well. So we always joke around that we should contact eHarmony and do a commercial together but it was always just talk. Well, the other day I thought I would contact them to let them know our success story and Ellen's story too and see what happens. I mentioned that we are not only happily married but have a baby too and I attached a couple of pictures. I didn't even tell Leland because I thought I'd never hear back from them. Well today I got an email from them saying they are very interested in our story and wanting to know if we'd be interested in going through their casting process for some new commercials they're going to do. Crazy!! At first Leland didn't want to do it unless they are going to pay us....which I have no idea if they would....but heck they would probably fly us out somewhere and pay for our travel and stay if we were chosen so I think that sparked his intersest enough to go with it. So anyway, we'll see what happens. They wanted our phone number so the casting director can call us. I'm sure we'll have to send in a video or something like that so they can weed out people. It's a long shot but still kinda fun. I don't exactly want people knowing I met my spouse on the internet (that just sounds creepy) but then again who cares...I met a wonderful godly man that the Lord had chosen for me so I guess it was meant to be! I'll keep you posted!
