Kate's 1st Dentist Visit

Kate had her very first dentist appointment this week and did so great! I was so proud of her. Kate tends to be very reserved around new people and especially if they want her to do something she normally just stares at you. Haha! But she came with me to my appoitment to watch first and we've been reading "Barney Goes to the Dentist" and I think that was what made it all go smoothly. She was so excited about it all day. Well, the good news is she did great and had a good experience. Bad news.....she has 2 cavities! It pains me just to say it, coming from her dental hygienist mother. I am so sad she has to have fillings done in her little baby teeth! Well, I guess we will not be giving her candy anymore (at least not as much). She goes back on Monday to do one filling. I pray it will be a good experience. I'm so nervous about it!

gettting some x-rays

watching cartoons while they get cleaned!

Dr. Stampe doing her exam. Can you tell the TV was totally distracting her.

All done!

Great job Kate! Mommy was so proud of you. Now let's just get you through the next 2 not-so-fun appointments!

January Fun!

We have had fun doing different things this month. Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful day the the Ft. Worth Stock show with G and Tassy. Kate absolutely loved it! Morgan thought it was fun too. After seeing how much enjoyment Kate got out of the whole experience, I think we may have a little FFA on our hands! She loved the horses and cows the most.

These were the cleanest cows I've ever seen! They were getting pampered all day and had the softest hair.

Checking out the sheep. We also saw pigs, chickens, chicks, ducklings, a turkey, and bunnies

the girls couldn't resist getting a picture taken with these adorable baby goats (kids). The little black one kept trying to nibble on Morgan's ear. I paid $12 to have their picture taken and it turned out horrible so I snuck a few in with my camera-not much better.

Waiting for the cow milking demo to start.

petting a horse

posing for a second while we walked around the exhibit hall

Such a fun day and the girls had so much fun! Kate went home with G and Tassy that day to spend a few days with them and give Mommy and Daddy a much needed break! yay for grandparents!

These next few pictures are just some things we've been doing around the house to stay busy.

I got brave one day and let the girls fingerpaint. I think Morgan was eating it when I wasn't looking. She didn't know what to think about it.

the girls love to play outside, even if it's super cold. They aren't wimps like me.

Christmas with the Wells

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Christmas is such a joy when you have children. I get to re-live being a kid through seeing the joy they get out of it! We really spent some time this year reading Bible stories about Jesus' birth and explaining to Kate why we celebrate Christmas. Maybe next year we'll make a birthday cake for Jesus!
We spent Christmas weekend with Leland's family. It was a small group this year, just his parents and grandmother. It was nice actually to have a low-key Christmas. Morgan kinda got the present thing this year. Of course Kate was totally into it! Here's a few pictures from the weekend.

Christmas morning. This is a baby doll stroller that Morgan loves for Kate to push her in. They do this all the time....so funny.
Kate having a conversation with Waney

The whole gang (minus aunt Ellen and uncle David...they were in Alabama with his family)

the pillow pets were a hit. Morgan got a giraffe and Kate got a horse

modeling her new boots G and Tassy bought her.

now modeling the new coat G and Tassy got her

Leland showed Kate how to play pinball on the computer. It was scary how quick she picked it up and could do it all by herself. I hope he doesn't turn her into a computer game playing nerd!

Playing with her new Mobigo. She loved it! This thing will be a road trip must have.

Another thing I have to mention that was so cute.... While we were at G and Tassy's house, each night G would take Kate out at night in the truck to see the deer and jackrabbits on their property. Kate loved it. And I think G did too. She also wants to feed his cows everytime she comes to visit so he went and bought some feed for her to give to the cows. That's their bonding time and I think it's so sweet. He doesn't have any grandsons yet but Kate still loves getting dirty on the farm with him so I guess that's close enough.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and remembered that Jesus humbled himself to be born a man so that through his death and resurrection we could be redeemed of our sins. We are so grateful for his faithfulness and unconditional love for us!

Happy New Year!!
