New Toys

Our sweet neighbors Mindy and Jay gave us their exersaucer and bumbo chair for Kate to use since they no longer need it. So, Kate has been enjoying her new toys and new view of the world. She's already figured out that if she stiffens up her legs she can try to work herself out of the bumbo chair.

We had our first playdate last week and it was fun. We met up with two other moms and their babies at the park. None of us had ever met before so it was a little weird at first. One of the ladies was from Bangledesh and I had the hardest time understanding her accent. I'm horrible with accents. It's kind of funny because at this point, playdates are for mommy, not for Kate. I don't even think she noticed the other babies. But you want to click with the other moms and I'm not sure if we all did, so we'll see where it goes. It was our first meet-up so we'll give it a chance! I'll keep you posted!

Live- 4 Month Old Kate

Kate is now 4 months old! Hard to believe. I already miss her being a newborn, but every stage she's gone through has been so much fun and I can't wait for the next one and the next one. She had her 4 month checkup yesterday and now weighs 13lbs 5oz and is 24 1/4 inches long (both in the 50th percentile) so she's growing at the same rate and is looking healthy. She is sleeping about 10 hours at night (thank you Lord!) and is not a great napper but we're working on it. In fact, today is the first day that I was able to lay her down in her crib for her morning nap still awake and she fell asleep on her own. It's weird, at night she will fall asleep on her own and I think it's because she's really tired and her room is pitch black, but if I normally lay her down during the day she will cry and cry and cry until I finally give in and go get her. Well, I think I figured out I'm waiting until she's overly tired and it's hard for her to get settled down at that point, so now I'm laying her down at certain times when I know she'll soon be ready to nap and so far it's worked! Yea!! This month Kate has laughed for the first time, she's always smiling and flirting with any person who comes up to see her and talk to her. She talks and babbles quite a bit (it never fails-she always starts babbling in church and I usually end up taking her to the nursery because she gets pretty vocal-but it's so cute and everyone at church thinks it's cute too). She is grabbing at toys and putting everything in her mouth. She loves to watch Sadie and always smiles at her when she sees her. She is doing much better on her tummy and will stay there for longer periods of time now without fussing. She's been such a joy and we just love her so much!!

Displacement of Mustang's Motor

Okay Jeff, this is just for you!

Leland's mustang is 408 cubic inches, 500 horse power, 500 tq, and no idea on bore and stroke. Of course I knew all of this, I just didn't want to bore the blog readers with the details. (What's a bore and stroke?????)

Stay tuned for pictures coming soon!

Weekend Fun

Leland's parents, (Taseen and G-Daddy) came for a visit this weekend. Kate had such a good time with her grandparents. Here's a few pictures from the weekend.

Leland's Mustang

Leland's mustang has been in the shop for a while getting some custom work done and a few of the harder things that Leland didn't have the time to do himself so he went to see the progression this weekend. It's coming along. Here's a couple of pictures of the new engine they just put in. They are about to put the carborator (sp??) in and as soon as they do that it comes back home and Leland will finish the rest. He's hoping to have it finished by this summer so we can drive it around and enjoy cruising in it until winter season gets here again. I don't know if he'll allow the car seat in the back-kind of ruins the look of a muscle car! I've gotten spoiled with the extra space in the garage, but that will have to change soon.
