We're Home!

We are officially residents of Texas again........for good this time!! yay! We're so happy to be back home and closer to family and friends. We moved in last week and have been busy getting settled in. Leland's parents kept Kate for us the first few days we were moving in so that was a huge help since Leland had to go right to work the day after we moved and I was home alone to unpack everthing. I was able to knock most of it out before they brought her back to us.....and about killed my pregnant self trying to do it all! But I'm much better now. So now all we have left is hanging things on walls and putting down area rugs and decorating......getting shutters and curtains, painting etc.....you know, the stuff that will probably get put off for the next 6 months. I wish I could just afford an interior designer to just come in and do it all for me!

We still haven't sold our St. Louis home yet so keep praying for us that it sells soon! We haven't even had any showings in over 2 weeks and that's after dropping our price....ugh.

Kate is adjusting well to her new house. It's a one story so it's awesome not having to worry about stairs and do baby gates, etc....but it's funny because sometimes if I am in another room and she can't find me and is wondering around the house looking for me until she starts getting panicked and crying. Poor thing!

I saw my new OB yesterday and think I'm going to like her. It's kinda odd going to a new doctor so late in the game and not really having any relationship established with her knowing I'm having this baby in 7 weeks or less!

Sorry, I haven't taken any pictures of the house yet, but I'll try to post some as soon as I can since a lot of you have been asking for pics.

Until next time!!

18 Months!

Kate had her 18 month checkup Thursday. Here's her stats....weight 24lbs 12 oz (60th %) Height 33 1/2 inches (85th %) and head 18 inches (30th %)....so basically she has her mom's small head and her dad's height.

Kate is doing great, growing like a weed, learning new things everyday, saying new words everyday...her newest word is "help." I got tired of hearing her whine and point when she couldn't figure out something and wanted me to do it for her so I taught her to say "help" and she's figured out I will be more responsive. She's also recently started saying "home" when we pull in the garage after running errands. I think she's heard me say it over and over...."Kate we're home." So cute! Kate has this children's Bible in her room and she knows it's called her Bible so she when she sees it and wants to read it she points to it and says Bible (sounds like bable). So the other day we were in the living room and my Bible was sitting out on the coffee table and she walked by, saw it, stopped and touched it and said "Bable". How she knew that was my Bible, I have no idea! Mine looks totally different from hers and I never taught her that. It was awesome! Love that sweet girl.

On the not so exciting note, we are so entering the terrible two's way too early. Kate has started this major attitude with us when she doesn't get her way. It's not so fun, but I guess they all go through that....I just hope she gets through it quick because I refuse to have a spoiled brat in this house (ha-that sounds terrible)!
Well, I won't ramble on about what all Kate's been doing. She's a happy fun little girl and she's going to be a big sister soon which is so exciting! I know she'll be great at it and I'm so excited she's going to have a playmate.
