We Have a Crib

I finally found a crib after doing a lot of research online. At first I thought we'd just get one at Babies R Us, but when I found out we are having a girl, I really wanted to get all white furniture, and at Babies R Us, if they don't have what you like on display (which they didn't) then you have to special order and it takes 16-18 weeks. Forget that! So I've been doing a lot of shopping online and reading customer reviews. I found a white one at JC Penney's that had great reviews and it could go with either a girl or a boy (so we can reuse it down the road). I ordered it and recieved it 2 days later! So here it is.............

I also found the bedding and ordered it today too. After weeks of shopping around, I finally made a decsion. I probably make things way too difficult. I'll post pictures of all of that once we get it.

Other than that, everything else is going well. We've had an awesome summer up here (well if you ask Leland it's been terrible because it's been bad for his business). It's been in the 80's all month. I don't miss those long hot summers in Texas, but I'm not looking forward to the long cold winter here.

I'm not sure when I'll quit my job. My doctor pretty much knows I'm not coming back after I have the baby, we just haven't discussed it yet. My office manager however, doesn't know that yet. I figure I'll just keep working until I get too uncomfortable or my back starts to really bother me. We'll see. If I stayed home now, I'd be so bored! Okay, that's all the rambling I have for today.

We're Having..............

................a sweet baby GIRL! I'll even prove it............

Here's the ultrasound that confirmed it

This one is of her profile

Her feet (my favorite photo!) cute little tooties

She's waving "Hi Mommy and Daddy"

So here's our little girl. Leland's parents were in town visiting this weekend and they were able to come to the ultrasound appointment with us which was really exciting. I was so glad they got to experience it! It is amazing the detail they can see and test for with this particular ultrasound. We could see the kidneys, liver, brain, 4 chambers of the heart, stomach, aorta, spine, ribs, and much more. It was soooo cool. Everything looked healthy and we just praise God for this blessing. Now we can start planning and getting the nursery ready. I have a goal this week to pick out and purchase nursery furniture. It's a lot harder making a decision than I thought it would be. We haven't picked out a name yet and I have a feeling we're going to be one of those couples that doesn't have a name decided on until the last minute. We'll see!

Help

Hey all you mommies out there. I am planning to start registering soon since I have a shower coming up in a couple of months and just wanted some feedback from any of you moms out there on "must haves" and "don't bother buying" baby items. Even if you're not a mom and you've heard about great baby things or bad ones----any advice is welcomed! Friday we have another ultrasound and get to find out the sex of the baby. I have no clue or intuition of what we're having nor have I thought much about it since I can't really control that part. I just can't wait to find out either way! Leland's parents will be visiting this weekend so we are so excited they can be here to share in the exciting news we'll recieve. I just hope and pray that the baby is healthy and everything is developing the way it's suppose to. I'll keep you all posted!!

Spoiled Rotten

Sadie sometimes thinks she's human. She sleeps with her head on pillows and loves to be comfortable and lay on soft cushy things. She is so pampered it's not even funny. She is about full grown now. She is the smallest boxer we've ever seen but she's so cute and so much fun. She has a great personality and lights our day up when we come home from work.

Memphis

We went to Memphis, Tennessee last weekend just for fun. We figured while we're living here in St. Louis we'd better get out and see this part of the country while we can. So of course, we had to go to Graceland to see Elvis' mansion! I had been when I was about 5 but remembered very little and Leland had never been.

The next day we went to a church where one of the greatest preachers of all time used to pastor before he passed away. Bellvue Baptist Church is in Cordova, TN and his name was Dr. Adrian Rogers. Leland came to know the Lord through listening to his sermons on the radio. We went into their bookstore and just wanted to see the inside of the church.

Then later that day we went downtown to Beale street and had some Memphis BBQ. We went to a place called Rendeveous tucked away in an alley.........they're famous for their ribs. Then we headed home. It was a short trip but fun. We may go to Chicago next. It's only about 4 hours north from here.
